The composer writes:

"Two sounds heard in close proximity to each other may be perceived as connected. As the time between these two sounds increases, the perception of connectedness may decrease. By continuing in this fashion, there may be a point when these two sounds are no longer perceived as connected. My second sonata looks to inhabit a small space immediately before this point."

The music of Anthony Donofrio reflects a deep interest in delicate and fragile treatments of time and gesture that are often interrupted or broken. Their work investigates the compositional intersection of music and experimental literature, specifically in the realm of nonlinearity and structural distortion.
